Tom worked very hard on the garden this summer.
It looked amazing and the vegetables and flowers produced at high rates of speed!
We honestly had difficulty eating so many tomatoes and really, I know there are worse problems to have...
The tomatoes were insane.
Red, yellow, Roma, Heirloom varieties, grape...
Cyanne loved them.
She would walk up to a bush, inspect it, point at the green ones and says "owchie" (because I think Tom was trying to teach her not to pick the green, unripe ones and that this would cause them pain... or something along those lines - he'll do pretty much anything to protect his tomatoes =)), and then she would find a nice, bright red one and pick it. She then would look at it and take a BIG bite. Followed by a smile with juices running down her chin... "Yum!"
So, she continued to eat her tomato like an apple as she walked around and inspect her domain, um, I mean, Tom's... as they watered, weeded, and picked vegetables and flowers together.
Do these look good, or what? Juicy and delicious!
"Now, what are we going to do with all these tomatoes? Let's see, this looks promising..."
Yes, finding just the right recipe can be frustrating.
Looking for some divine intervention...
"This is ridiculous. I'm outta here!"

Hilarious. Those photos of Cyanne looking through Everyday Foods are hilarious, especially as a series. So I want to know, though, what DID you do with all those tomatoes? Did you make sauce, salsa, can them, or just eat them all raw?
All of the above. Lots of fresh tomatoes in salads and with fresh basil and mozzarella. We also crushed tons of them and have bags and bags of frozen tomato sauce in the freezer to be used over the winter. I'm sure you'll have some while you're here! T
